Personifications of Death in webcomics....

Postby alschroeder » Thu May 20, 2010 3:13 am

I'm thinking of various personal representations of Death in webcomics---how many in various webcomics, often in separate realities.

Just offhand I can think of Steve in LIFE AND DEATH...
Hela in BRAT-HALLA...
The one in GODS of AR-KELEEN....
Who else?
I appreciate you humoring my "fishing" here. I'm using these questions for springboards for possible webcomics crossovers. Some fall flat, but others are very suggestive.---Al

I've actually considered doing a thread like this for awhile.

BTW Sally is also Death in Life & Death & Steve's grandfather Azrael was the original.

Daniel is one of many grim reapers in Captain Greyhound

Aerenerea Elena Dribreze is the Goddess of Death of Crossing Death

Bill of Doomies

Death May Die

DeAtH pLaYs ChEsS

Dying To Live

Azriel the angel of death of Earthbound.

Ray Jin & eventually FusionD herself

The Grim Dot Com

Jack

Jim Reaper

While I normally just borrow Steve The KAMics has Gertrude, Brunhilda & Nikki who were Valkyries which is basically a specialized Grim Reaper.
Also we see the personification of penguin death here.
While we've only seen her twice the official Death is a bit of a cosplayer.

Death is the father of Honeo in Muertitos

Death is planning to marry the grandmother of the star of Oopsie-Doodle

Hela from Pr0nCrest

Start of the introduction to the official reaper in PSI

You're welcome.

Of course, I did forget Irregular Webcomic & all their Deaths.

There were a number of others I knew of, but their comics don't seem to be on the web anymore so I avoided listing them..

I'd count Miss Katrinity as a "Death"... except she's not in that role inside Magiversity... still...

She'd probably be insane as Death I think... She's shown up as a guest in the Life and Death comic in this role.

Minna doesn't count. She was only trying out for the role outside the comic story. :)

Hmmm...

Death from Life4death

Morty from Life of Death

Death from Dowm to Earth

Death from Anywhere but here

That's what I remember on the fly...

Anytime I see "death" in a comic, I mentally supply the voice of "Grim" from Billy + Mandy.
"So my Mom left me a huge heap of molding, rotten, decaying, puss-dripping zombies ... How cool is that?"

"So what is your advice to me?"
"Stop doing stupid crap."

For that matter Keybounce there is an unauthurized fancomic called Grim Tales From Down Below that uses those characters.

The TV Tropes entry for Grim Reaper mentions some comics not listed here. (Not many direct links though.)

And since writing that I have since decided that the official Death is Hela, the Norse goddess of death and, while I haven't stated it in-comic, I figure that all that time spent in the depressing Niffleheim surrounded by the dead, has caused her to go a little crazy, hence the cosplaying.
